General conditions

  • Please provide the dimensions in millimeters (mm), greater accuracy in comparison to inches/feet.
  • Please specify the materials from which the walls and frames of windows/doors are made of.
  • Please note it is necessary to drill a hole through the wall or through the window frame to allow the wire (if electrically operated) or strap (if manually-operated) to go through to the inner side.
  • A 230V 50Hz electric power supply is required for electrically-operated roller shutters.
  • There are a number of ways to operate the roller shutters. Operated manually by a swivel belt or a spring-loaded mechanism. Electrically operated, by remote control, rocker switch or a key switch.
There are two main methods for fixing roller shutters to the aperture.

When ordering the roller shutters, please specify a method of fixing, or send us a picture so that we can assist you with the fitting possibilities and measurements.

1. External face fix – flat to the wall.
  • Please note that there must be enough height above the opening to fit the top box – B on the drawing.
  • The distance of the left and right sides of the opening is enough to accommodate the channel guides – A on the drawing.
  • The sizes of the top box depends on the roller shutter height. The most common sizes of the top boxes are 137 mm, 150 mm, 160 mm, 180 mm, 205 mm, 250 mm.
  • The channel guides measure 53 mm and 70 mm depending on the roller shutter slats size.
  • The overall size of the roller shutter includes the top box and channel guides.
  • The measurements we require from you are: H – opening height, W – opening width, A – distance on the sides, B – height above the opening.
  • Measure the width of the opening at the top, middle and bottom. If the dimensions are different, please notify us.
  • Measure the height of the opening on both sides. If the dimensions are different, please notify us.
  • Be aware of any potential irregularities. These may impede placement of the roller roller shutter on the wall.
  • The overall size of the roller shutter will be calculated after we have received all required dimensions.
2. Inside of the opening - between brickwork or frame.
  • Please note that when the roller shutter is mounted inside of the opening, the overall size of the opening will be reduced by the channel guides and the top box fitted inside.
  • The size of the top box depends on the roller shutter height. The most common sizes are 137 mm, 150 mm, 160 mm, 180 mm, 205 mm, 250 mm.
  • The channel guides measure 53 mm and 70 mm depending on the roller shutter slats size.
  • The overall size of the roller shutter includes the top box and channel guide.
  • The measurements we require from you are: H – opening height, W – opening width.
  • Measure the width of the opening at the top, middle and bottom. If the dimensions are different, then you should take a smaller dimension.
  • Measure the height of the opening on both sides. If the dimensions are different, then you should take a smaller dimension.
  • Pay attention to any irregularities in the opening. They may potentially impede placement of the shutter inside the opening.
  • The total shutter size will be smaller than the opening size by 5mm to allow a smooth placement inside the opening.
